Hi Jean! Thank you for your input. This collie panel is not of a photo of his dog. It is, as you described, a rubbery type that is heat set on the fabric like those on t-shirts.
I believe that the fabric cit was attached to is cotton, however, not really sure. In retrospect, I should have ironed on a light-weight backing first. Since I did not do that, I echo quilted around the picture and am hoping that will help.
I'm hoping that the picture itself will hold up alright and the close quilting around it will keep it's background fabric more stable.
A few weeks ago, when I was watching Jenny from MSQC and Rob from Man Sewing make these burst blocks she said to Rob, "I have never had anyone not want one of my quilts because the blocks didn't match." So hoping that however it turns out he will be happy to have it and it will bring him a bit of comfort.
BTW, Jean, which printer do you have? I recently replaced my great HP printer, which printed great photos on photo sheets, with a Canon and I am no longer able to print my own photos on photo cloth. So disappointed. Thanks again, Yolanda
