Another IRR quilt fresh off the frame
« on: July 22, 2015, 09:18:59 PM »
I'm working through my pile of UFO tops.  This is the 2nd of my last 3 IRR quilt tops.  This one has been waiting since 2008..or 2009.  I learned or re-learned a lesson on this one and it was to STOP doing fancy quilting on fabric where it won't show up.  You can't see anything on that giraffe/zebra looking fabric in the center.  Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it and it did have its challenges.  Not perfect, but finished and better than the last one.  I can't ask for more, so I'm happy with it.

Another beauty!  I love the way you quilted the green border to give it the on-point appearance. As a group RR, it's really impressive the way the outer floral border fabric goes so well with the appliqued flowers in the earlier round.

Beautiful quilting.  I'm so impressed with how coordinated the RR fabric and borders are.  Great lesson to learn about quilting on 'jumbly' pattern fabric.

Did you do the quilting FMQ or on a LA?  You do such beautiful work, Patty.  This one is stunning.

Thanks ladies.  This one was really fun!

LOL Denise, so sorry.  I shouldn't use acronyms without explaining.  It was an International Round Robin.  This quilt went from started in TN and finished up in France.  The unfortunate thing was that I didn't get to hand deliver it on all the stops!

That's absolutely gorgeous!  All of the fabrics play so beautifully together. I just LOVE the fabric that's for the pedals in the center. Your quilting is exquisite. If the quilt were on my bed, I'd use it 4 days on the front side to see all the magnificent pattern and colors, then the other 3 days to admire the quilting on the reverse side.

Oh, how pretty this is.  Love all the quilting, especially the squares on the green border.  Gives the whole quilt a different feel and look.  Have you got any quilts entered in any contests out there?

Love your quilting and agree, too bad you couldn't get to hand deliver it.

I so admire "pebbling".  Tried it once but failed miserably and haven't had time or inclination to try again.
