New Year's Eve Wedding Quilt
« on: September 26, 2016, 04:41:41 PM »
This is my current project.  It's a wedding quilt for my sweetheart's youngest son and future DIL. Their wedding colors are black and gold, and they are getting married this New Year's Eve in southeast Michigan. NOT looking forward to the cold since we currently live in Tucson, Arizona!  LOL  Having said that, we definitely are looking forward to seeing the kids again.  The couple's names are Stephen and Shannon, and their last name starts with the letter B.

One of the fabrics being used has a New Year's Eve theme.  Thought it would be fun to include it in the quilt.  All of the fabrics have a metallic element to them.  Adds a bit of sparkle.  8)

For the life of me I can't figure out why in the world the silhouette pic is coming out sideways!  In my pic folder it is right side up!  ARGH!!!  Sorry, but I guess you will have to turn your computer sideways.  LOL

It will be interesting  to  see  the  finished quilt. It looks so interesting and I'm sure  they will treasure  such a special  gift.

That will be a treasure! I love the gold in it and the silhouettes are great.  One picture I just posted on another thread was turned upside down!

updates...yes, please.
I have a fabric bundle (I bundle everything for a project),
that has black, some gold, gray, taupe, cream.
I'm liking this combination.
I've not met a color I didn't like...only "shapes",
or should I say "themes".

How exciting!!  I know how challenging it can be making a quilt like this for a special event and a special couple.  And I'm anxious to see how it is coming together.  Fun!!

Looks like it is going to be a great quilt! And thoughtful!  Now as far as coming to Michigan that time of year, bring your long johns (or get some)! They are saying this Winter is going to be worse for cold and snow then the 14-15 winter, and that one was really bad! First time our septic froze in 30 years of being here!

Thanks for the nice compliments. I am loving the colors.

SueB, we moved here to Tucson five years ago this coming December so we know all too well about Michigan winters. Lived nearly my entire life in the Detroit area, and my sweetie was born and raised there. Trust me when I say that we are NOT looking forward to the cold weather. At least I still have a winter coat. LOL  It's a short wool one, but it will be much appreciated during the trip. Don's two sons live in the Detroit area -- one in Brighton, the other in Livonia.  The reception will be in Plymouth.  With our luck there will be a snow storm!  LOL  Now if I only had boots, too!!  ;D

Well, finally back to share an update. Here is a picture of the bride and groom-to-be with their wedding quilt. And by the way it's COLD here  in Michigan! Maybe I should have held onto the quilt so I could use it myself! LOL
