Thermore

I use it for the circles.

I have no idea how it would work for hand quilting but we can try it.

Connecting Threads carries it and it is frequently on sale.

I am using Thermore for my Dear Jane quilt & I love it!!! It is paper thin & quilts like it isn't there. It does have a sort of sticky feel to it when you first take it out of the bag, but I think that helps it keep the fabrics from slipping around when you're moving your hoop.

I keep all my batting scraps after I trim it up & I like the bag it comes in. Too bad more batts don't come packaged this way.

Here is a pic of my DJ - Jane's Journey.

I just now realized that there are more than one thread under Hand Quiltin'.
I love everybodie's quilts that are here, especially your WC Debbie. A WC is on my bucket list also. I'd like ta do one for my bed.
As for my favorite battin' I just love wool. I like the puffy look it has when ya hand quilt w/it.

Dublb, I love bamboo and warm and natural 80/20 and a few others.
Some quilts are better quilted and with a little puff, and I agree, some are really nice with the fluff.....so project to project.
And yes this is a fun section Admin agreed to start for us.
Hooray for hand quilters.....

I finished a hand pieced card trick block quilt in a week.
At retreat this weekend, I finished it in one day by machine stitching it.
So either way is good for me.

A friend of mine recently gave me a whole cloth quilt-wall hanging size-to practice on.  I've been trying to take pictures of the panel for the before shot but it's hard to get the light printing to show up.  Next I'm going to try outside.  What I want to know first is if I can spray starch and iron it-it's been folded for a long time and the wrinkles bug me. :D

You can prepare it just like normal to get wrinkles out.
I used Best Press for mine, the wrinkles just disappear.

Here's an update of my little whole cloth.  I see the center as the sun radiating out and the feathers as plants reaching for the sun so they'll be done in varigated greens.  I can't find the pics of my uneven back stitching.

PS Here's a bonus pic I took today-beautiful rose and it has a luscious sweet scent. :)

Beautiful WCQ and that rose too.
I love roses. One day I am going to order Betty Boop roses and start a garden just for them in a nice part sun to shaded area and good soil. Since half this ranch had a working vegetable garden, the soil is really good. Just needs a good tilling up....small area.
Keep showing pictures as you go.

Thanks, Debbie.
This rose is one we planted when we first moved in the house in 1993.  We planted three and this is the only color that has survived.  I love the smell of old fashion sweet roses but they are harder and harder to find.  I have a lavender one that smells really good.  I have been looking for a yellow one forever but so far haven't found one with a scent.

I love the old fashioned as well and the ones walmart sells are great and cheap. SO once in a while I buy them for my table just to smell them.
SO nice.

Hoping others see our new section and post pictures of their whole cloth quilts. I cam anxious to see everyone's work. I just love whole cloth quilting.
And now HOlice, who has his own line of Pre-printed whole cloth quilts is on our board. We are so lucky to have him here. I have one of his Pineapple WCQ that Ladybugtx bought me for Christmas. When she got hers I had to tell her he was on the other board and now he is here.
Thanks everyone.

Check this out. I found it on FB but haven't checked it out yet myself.
I like the pattern on the top. Although it is nice to buy a pre-printed WcQ I am thinking this will let uys use our favorite background and trace it on.
Cost has to be a savings using these

Found this one. And of course I chose a book that is now put of print.
And they say librarys carry it too.
But, good news is, while browsing, I did see other books on Welsh Quilting.

Check out this Welsh quilt
