Take 5 Ranger quilt
« on: March 10, 2016, 11:08:38 AM »
My dear sister Ladybugtx made this awesome quilt top for me and I have it on the frame to hand quilt it.
After all she got me into baseball and now I'm addicted to that and football too.
Rangers only have one fabric or so , so she included fabrics I love to go with it...
Love the little baseball fabric.

Perfect to have a quilt on the frame....I should be getting my Cyberknife (nothing to do with a knife) radiation treatment for my brain tumor soon....
Keeping my mind occupied and busy with something I love so I won't forget a thing...

Anyone else use quilting to soothe the days? To me it is such good therapy...

I have  my stitches out of my forehead from surgery two weeks ago....life is good.

Thank you quilting for making me happy and all my quilting friends who are there for me...

I am doing a stitch in the ditch around the blocks and then I'll go back and fill in however I like...the blocks need some stitches in them.....
Oh, and I am using a variegated red/white and blue thread.
Backing is deep, dark red blends....
More pictures as I go.

I love the pattern Take 5. It always makes such pretty quilts. Just like this one! I bet the variegated thread you are using will just pop!

And as fast as you are this will probably be ready in a week!

Good job Jane!

What  a  loving  sisterly  thing to do. Great quilt.  I do E P P as a calming activity.  Keep that positive  attitude  it's  as important  as  any  medicine   :)

That is going to be pretty with variegated thread! And yes, when I'm quilting the outside world just goes away.... CheatMT what is E P P? or am I just an idiot? LOL    It just hit me! Is it English Paper Piecing?

I imagine that is what it is.

DD came to sit with me for two days after my surgery two weeks ago..To pass the time she had her EPP she cartries every where with her. On the second day when I was awake enough, she laid it out on my table and we both hand stitched....it was a nice visit...

EPP English paper piecing like all the popular hexie quilts.

I am about half way done and would have had it done sooner but lots going on.
I am done with my radiation on my brain tumor so now to sit and hope he dies or at least stops growing.
Everything went quite well on the second take. :)
I'll post when it is done.
