Quilting for a Friend

This is knittykitty's vintage top she has had and asked me to hand quilt it. It is about half way done now. Doing shadow stitching on the main parts first, then will go back and do some SID to add some depth in the smaller areas.
It' a king size.....such bright colors....

It's getting there. I am about 3/4 of the way done with it. Love how it is turning out.
Mind you I used stitches like the ones used on the original hand piecing to match....so far so good.....

What vibrant colors for a vintage quilt, I love it.  Must be a great feeling of accomplishment, Debbie, to hand quilt something like that.  Beautiful job.

WOW stunning! TFS  :) Your quilting is amazing. I will "get there" one day lol
What batting is in the quilt? I am using wool batting in my current project, the Nov DQ swap, and I am finding it harder to quilt due to the loft, the stitches are ok topside, but tiny (or missing entirely!!) underneath.  :o lol

Judy aka knittykitty actuall brought me warm and natural 80/20.
I like the non loftier batting but I have used it on that's that they wanted lots of puffiness in so it works too.
I use Bamboo , warm and natural wool, and whatever feels "right" to me.
It's all good.
Judy saw her quilt on FB that I posted and I think she like it. lol.

Lovely job Debbie.  It may be a vintage quilt but the vibrant colors make it appear new and modern.

Hooray. A great day....and now a few days to cook and rest my fingers.
This week my peripheral vision kicked my fingers and knuckles hiney. Pin pokes, and touching the oven shelves again today.....I am going to buy me some stove gloves. It hurts to burn....I'm smart that way. LOL

Here's Judy aka knittykitty's quilt all done.
Bundled waiting to go home on Dec 4 to the last retreat of the year in Weatherford.......
I am so happy to have this done. I would bind it but she didn't send the binding....

Happy ending. Judy took the quilt to Dreamquilter here on QH who lives close and she made the binding and it's done.
What I feel is a good job but not nearly as "professional' as some, surprised me. Judy thought it was perfect...

Now a break until after the holidays
