We have TWINS again this year...Deer that is!
« on: August 16, 2015, 05:15:55 PM »
Every year we have at least twins or triplets.  This year so far looks like just Twins.  Last year we had Twins, Triplets and on Single that we seen on a regular basis.  We have been seeing these two for about 3 weeks now.  They really put on a show when they want to romp and kick up their heels, sometimes Mom will join them in the fun!

How cute is that.  We have so much noise and dogs around here that we don't see them near the house anymore.  Find tracks but the deer are long gone by then.   :)

Used to see so many before the new fencing went in. Now, I am glad they are using a different course to get through here as last year, the mothers would jump the fence and the little ones couldn't do it.  Most of the does just went on their way anyhow. Broke my heart.  So this year, they are on a different time schedule and path.  I only see them occasionally.  Yesterday, a doe soared over the fence into the pasture.  Kept watching down below and I couldn't figure out what she was so interested in.  Then, she hopped back over and down behind the wood stacks, then I saw it, a late fawn.  They then went through the blackberry thicket and down the back side.  One good doe who cared.

One year we had a doe park her Triplets down by the pond, in the yard...and she took off.  They stayed there for about an hour and a half. Every now and then one would get up and go to the edge of the yard, and then go back and lay with the rest of the bunch.  Then all of a sudden the Mom must have called them and up they jumped and ran into the woods...seen them all together later that day.  Maybe Mom wanted some down time! LOL
