Thought I  would  share  these.

You are so lucky to have one in bloom. Nine yrs. ago, this month, I moved here from CO.  Mine was huge and in full bloom.  It got left in the car overnight and it killed most of the longer strands off.  Since then, it has grown back to it's full size, but only once has it tried to bloom again and it was just a pathetic effort, I think.  I have tried to keep it in the greatest of health, hoping that once more, it will really bloom.

Squirrelfood  do you do anything special  to get blossoms?   I put  mine outside in the spring, bring it in when fall comes around. The buds pop out about 2 weeks after  it comes  in.

Lovely! I had one when I lived in Alexandria VA. It lived in the kitchen window. Reliable lipstick red blooms on my mom'e birthday (Dec. 7) for 10 years. Then I moved to a different town and a different house. It started blooming in August and didn't quilt until Easter. The poor thing kicked the bucket after that. Bloomed its poor self to death.

I put it in a closet for about a month where it doesn't get much light, and let it dry out pretty good. Then put it in a sunny window and water well.

That is what my mother-in-law did and hers was beautiful every year.
